Jul 7: Lothian to Devon: the Jazz Band tour ends
I'm the only one at home until Friday. Trying to be positive about this: I can get a lot of wrok done, clear the lounge of all the old magazines, etc. and generally make myself useful.
Just got back from Edinburgh last night. Trust me and Jon - we drive for 350 miles and when we get home at 2245, we decide to phone a taxi and go straight to Timepiece. We got there in time to catch the second set of Joe the Lips - a soul band that seems to be gigging round town.
The Jazz tour to Edinburgh went well (on the whole). There was a high degree of disrespect shown in the evenings, though, which I found quite upsetting. When we'd been out or playing a gig, the few hours back at the hostel before everyone got to sleep was the problem time. Certain of our members are rather more liberal than others when it comes to intimacy in dormitories. Yes - bad, isn't it? Water under the bridge, now, though, but it caused a lot of consternation. Completely unnecessary behaviour in shared accommodation. As a result of the late-night antics, we set off for the Edinburgh-Exeter drive at 1300, rather than 0830.
