Jul 22: JDV Pro, Article II: Sensible personality tests
Anyone who's had an e-mail address for any length of time will know that there are people out there that love to send around personality tests. There's nothing much wrong about these, but they don't even pretend to be anything but fun, and have very little practical application as far as personal development is concerned. The acceptions are probably the Jung Myers Briggs tests I've looked at before, and others where the questions and evalutions of the answers given produce empirically valuable assessments. The Brainbench site seems to offer quite a comprehensive one. I have included the full text of my report after the jump, not because of of any vain belief that you're even slightly interested, but because (if you know me, at least), you can decide whether you think it is accurate. Empowered with that knowledge, you may choose to go on and take such tests yourself. I happen to think this sums me up pretty accurately, although I was expecting a higher "abstraction" mark than I got!
